C1 Ambulance Driver Training (DVSA) 2 Day Course (Including Test)

This package is suited for drivers who  have some experience driving larger vehicles and feel confident, having good driving skills and experience.
This course includes 12 hours 1 to 1 driver training with an instructor over 2 days, including your test on day 2
Your test will be completed on day 2 (subject to DVSA availability)

Ideal for student paramedics or those looking to get in to the ambulance sector in both front-line and patient transport, and require a C1 licence?

Our C1 driver training will give you experience in the manoeuvring of an ambulance style, vehicle safety and daily checks. 

Lambda Medical specialise in driver training for the ambulance sector using actual ambulances customised for training. This ensures you are trained in the actual size and type of vehicles you will be driving..

Our driver training is based from our training venue in Leeds, West Yorkshire, providing an ideal location for students across the region. 

Gaining you C1 Licence – Step by Step

There are a few steps involved in getting your C1 licence but its very simple and we are happy to help if required.
Before starting – You must;
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a current manual car licence (Cat B).
STEP 1 – Order D2 and D4 Forms From DVLA Online
The DVLA will post a D2 & D4 application forms to you. You can download the D4 form but not the D2.

STEP 2 – Book Your Medical
book a LGVHGV DVLA medical with a local provider. Lambda Medical can assist with this.
STEP 3 – Return Completed Forms To The DVLA
Once you have had your medical and completed your forms, return these to the DVLA along with your current driving licence. They will process this and send your licence back, which will now show you have a provisional C1 entitlement.

 

STEP 4 – Book Theory Tests
Once you have your provisional licence its time to book and PASS your theory tests. You will need to book 2 theory tests called – LGV Cat C Multiple Choice & LGV Cat C Hazard Perception. CPC is not required for driving ambulances.

 

STEP 5 – Practical Driving Course & Test
Once you have passed your theory and hazard perception tests you can book one of our C1 Driving courses. We will provide you exceptional training  to prepare you for your test. We will book your practical test and accompany you.
